Files and quoting

What files can I send?
For an instant laser cutting price, upload a DXF or SVG. For engraving, marking or anything unusual, send any file (SVG, DXF, PDF, PNG or JPG too) through a custom quote and a person prices it within 24 hours. A 3D model (STL, 3MF, OBJ or STEP) works there too: we cut or engrave from it, we don't print it. Get an instant price
I don't have a CAD file. Can you still make my part?
Yes. Start from one of 26 templates (plates, flanges, washers, straps, signs, gears and more), type your dimensions and the price updates as you go. For anything else, describe the part in a custom quote. Browse templates
Why won't my file give me a price?
The quote stops when a part can't be cut as drawn, like an outline that doesn't close. The page says which part and what to change: fix it in your CAD file and upload again, or send it for a custom quote. Big parts and files of several parts are fine. Laser cutting guidelines
My file doesn't say whether it's in inches or millimetres.
Many laser files don't. When a DXF declares no units we ask you which it is, and you can set the part's width or height directly. An SVG without units is read at 96 pixels per inch, the web standard.
Can you cut from a photo or a JPG?
Not directly: a laser follows lines, and a photo has none. Send it through a custom quote and we'll tell you what's possible, or trace it into a vector (SVG or DXF) first and get an instant price. Start a custom quote

Pricing

How is the price worked out?
From your part's geometry: its size, the length of every cut, how many separate cuts the laser has to start, the material and the quantity. The price on screen is what the parts cost; only sales tax, and shipping if you don't pick up, are added at checkout. How pricing works
Is there a minimum order?
Laser cutting orders have a $25 minimum. One that comes to less is topped up to $25, and the quote shows that line before you pay. Work we quote by hand, such as engraving your own items, has the same $25 minimum before shipping. Personalized items from the shop have no minimum.
Do you give quantity discounts?
Yes, automatically, for laser cut parts. The price per part drops as quantity goes up, steepest from 1 to 10 pieces, and the quote updates as you change the quantity. Over 100 of a laser cut part, ask for a volume quote: a person can often price the run lower, within 24 hours.
Can I order one sample before a batch?
Yes. For laser cut parts from your own file, price the batch, then choose Order a sample first: you pay the single-part price, and when it's paid you get a code for its full price, good on the batch for 60 days. For personalized items, order one: its full price comes off any order of $100 or more within 60 days, once per email. How samples work
How much is rush?
Next-day rush adds 50% to the order and has it ready the next business day.

Lead times, pickup and shipping

How fast will my parts be ready?
Laser cut parts are ready in 2 - 3 business days, or the next business day with rush. Engraving and marking are quoted with the job, within 24 hours. A material we don't keep on the shelf can add ordering time; we tell you before we start if it does. Lead times
Can I pick up my order?
Yes. Pickup in metro Atlanta is free; we send the details when your order is ready.
Do you ship?
Yes, UPS Ground anywhere in the US, priced by weight to your ZIP and shown in your total before you pay. Shipping and returns

Materials and limits

What materials can you laser cut?
Clear acrylic, black acrylic, white acrylic, red acrylic, blue acrylic, green acrylic, yellow acrylic, mirror acrylic, birch plywood, MDF, hardboard, Delrin (acetal) and polypropylene. Acrylic goes up to .500 in thick and wood to .250 in.
What won't you laser?
PVC and vinyl (they release chlorine gas), and we don't laser cut polycarbonate, ABS, HDPE, UHMW, G10, carbon fibre, neoprene or Viton: they cut badly or release harmful fumes. We also don't cut metal yet.
How big can a part be?
Up to 23.2 x 11.6 in (589 x 294 mm), in either orientation.
How small can features be?
Leave at least 1/16 in (0.0625 in) of material between any two cuts, or the web can burn through or snap. Parts under 1/4 in across get a human check before cutting. Laser cutting guidelines

Engraving and marking

Do you engrave acrylic and wood?
Yes, on our CO2 laser: acrylic, Baltic birch, MDF, hardboard, Delrin and polypropylene. Engraving is priced by a person within 24 hours. Start a custom quote
Can you mark metal parts?
Yes. Our fiber laser marks serial numbers, part numbers, logos and data plates on stainless steel, aluminium (including anodized) and brass, in a 220 x 220 mm field. It marks; it does not cut metal.

Paying as a business

Can I pay by invoice or with a PO?
Yes. Add your PO number at checkout or on a quote request and it prints on your receipt and invoice. A quoted order can be sent to your accounts team as a Stripe invoice, due on receipt, payable by card or bank transfer (ACH). Work starts once it's paid; we don't offer credit terms.
Can I get a formal quote for purchasing?
Yes. Under any instant price, choose Download a formal quote (PDF). It lists every line as checkout charges it, your PO if you add one, and a link that pays those prices for 30 days, by card or by an invoice to your accounts team.
Do you take tax-exempt orders?
Yes. Send your exemption or resale certificate once and a person checks it, usually within one business day. After that, orders and invoices under your email are billed without sales tax. Send a certificate
Can you send a W-9?
Yes. Email us and we'll send our W-9 for your vendor setup.

Orders and problems

Can I reorder something I bought before?
Yes. Your receipt and delivery email have a reorder link: the same file or design, any quantity, priced at today's prices. If you approved a proof on the first order and nothing changed, it goes straight to production.
What if a part arrives damaged or wrong?
Tell us within 7 days of delivery or pickup, with photos, and we remake it at no charge. Made-to-order parts can't be returned for a change of mind. Returns policy
Where are parts made?
Every part is cut, engraved and finished in our shop in metro Atlanta, Georgia. Some raw stock, like Baltic birch, is produced overseas; ask for domestic-only material and we'll source it. Domestic manufacturing
