Replacement nameplates

A worn nameplate, rebuilt from a photo.

Motor tags, pump and compressor data plates, and equipment ID plates. Send a photo of the old one and we redraw every rating by hand, send you a proof, then mark it on metal with a fiber laser so it outlasts the machine.

Material
Anodized aluminum, stainless
Marking
Fiber laser, permanent
Proof
Before we mark
Ready
Usually 3 - 5 business days

What we make them from

Metal that outlasts the machine.

Anodized aluminum
Black, silver or brass-look. The fiber laser marks under the anodized surface, so oil, solvents and sun don't wear the text off. Black plates mark bright silver; silver plates mark dark, like most factory tags.
Stainless steel
For hot, wet or washdown locations. Marked dark into the steel.
Size
Matched to your old plate. Common motor tags run about 3 x 2 in; send the measurements and we lay it out to fit.
Mounting
Drilled holes placed to match your old plate's pattern, or an adhesive back.

What we rebuild

Any plate you can photograph.

  • Motor tags

Type, HP and kW, frame, volts, amps, RPM, insulation class, bearings and serial, laid out like the original.
  • Pumps and compressors

Data plates worn smooth by years of heat and washdown, rebuilt so the ratings can be read again.
  • Serial runs

One plate per machine with the serial counting up, or a different plate for every unit from your list.
  • Your own equipment

Machine builders adding their company, model and ratings to equipment they make.

How it works

A photo in, a proof back, then the plate.

  1. 01Send a photo

A straight-on photo of the old plate, plus its size and hole spacing. A blurry corner is fine; tell us what it should say.
  2. 02We redraw it

Every field is typed by a person, not traced, so each rating is spelled and spaced correctly.
  3. 03Approve a proof

You get a photo-real proof and an actual-size drawing to hold against the original. Nothing is marked until you approve it.
  4. 04Marked and shipped

Most orders are ready in 3 - 5 business days. We ship anywhere in the US, or meet you in metro Atlanta.

Marking your own parts instead? Serial numbers, part numbers and logos straight onto stainless, aluminum and brass are covered on fiber laser marking.

Questions

Replacement nameplates, answered.

Can you make a replacement motor nameplate from a photo?
Yes. Send a clear photo of the old plate and its size. We redraw every field by hand, send a proof for you to check against the original, then laser mark it on anodized aluminum or stainless.
How much does a replacement nameplate cost?
Our standard 3 x 1.5 in equipment nameplate is $15.00 for one and down to $5.00 each at 100. Larger plates, like a 3 x 2 in motor tag, are quoted from your photo, usually within 24 hours, with the price for the quantity you need.
What if part of the old plate is unreadable?
Tell us what's missing. If a field is worn away, we leave it blank or use the value you give us. We never guess at a rating.
Do you copy the manufacturer's logo and certification marks?
We copy the ratings and the maker's name as text. We don't reproduce trademarked logos or certification marks such as UL or CE, which only the manufacturer can apply.
Will it last outdoors and around oil?
Yes. A fiber laser marks under the surface of anodized aluminum and into stainless steel, so the text doesn't rub, peel or fade like a printed label.
Can I order a set with different serial numbers?
Yes. Give us the first and last number, or a spreadsheet of what each plate should say, and every plate is checked against it before marking.
