Students and makerspaces

Laser cut parts for class, club and capstone projects.

For students at Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State and every other school in metro Atlanta, and for makerspace members when the shared laser is booked solid. Acrylic, birch, MDF and Delrin, cut in metro Atlanta.

Why it fits a student budget

Small orders are the whole point.

Files that cut first time

Five things to check before you upload.

  1. 01Export a DXF or SVG at real size. A file can hold several different parts; set the quantity in the quote rather than copying a part.
  2. 02Close every outline. A line that doesn't join up can't be cut, and the quote flags it.
  3. 03Turn text into outlines ("create outlines" or "object to path") if you want it cut.
  4. 04Keep at least 1/16 in (1.6 mm) of material between cuts so thin bridges don't break.
  5. 05Parts under 1/4 in across get a human look before cutting, and nothing can be bigger than 23.2 x 11.6 in.

Straight answers

There's no student discount. Students pay the same instant price everyone sees, and the help is the low minimum and the templates. We're an independent shop, not affiliated with any school or makerspace.
