Model, serial, ratings and your logo on the plate that ships with the machine.Asset tags
Tool, gauge and equipment tags that stay readable after the paper labels are gone.2D codes

Materials
Metals first, a few others on request.
- Stainless steel
- Dark, high-contrast surface marks, or a deeper engrave where the mark has to survive wear.
- Anodized aluminum
- The laser takes the dye out of the anodize, leaving a crisp, light mark on a dark finish.
- Bare aluminum
- Surface marks and deeper engraving.
- Brass
- Surface marks and deeper engraving for plates, tags and fittings.
- Also
- Some leather and glass. Send a sample and we'll tell you what to expect.
Marking only. The fiber laser marks and engraves the surface of a part; it doesn't cut metal. Your parts come to us already made. For acrylic, wood and Delrin, see laser engraving on our CO2 laser.
Logos on things we supply. Insulated tumblers, metal business cards and stainless tags come with an instant price per piece: see personalized products.

Questions
Marking, answered.
- Does the fiber laser cut metal?
- No. It marks and engraves the surface; it does not cut through. Metal parts arrive already cut to shape: your finished parts, or blanks you supply.
- How big a mark can you make?
- The marking field is 220 x 220 mm (about 8.7 x 8.7 in). The marked area has to fit inside it. If the part itself is large, send a drawing and we'll tell you whether it fits the machine.
- Can you mark serial numbers in sequence?
- Yes. Give us the start number and the format, or the full list, and every part gets its own number.
- Is there an instant price for marking?
- Not yet. Marking is priced by a person within 24 hours, because it depends on the parts, the fixture to hold them and the art.
