It checks the file
Every outline has to close and each part has to fit the bed; a file can hold a whole set of parts. Anything borderline still gets a price and a person looks at it before it's cut.

Pick the material and quantity and the price per part updates as you go. $25 order minimum, no setup fee, next-day rush +50%.

01Size
The rectangle your part fits in. Bigger parts use more sheet.
02Cut length
Every inch the laser travels while cutting, outline and holes together.
03Pierces
Each separate cut the laser has to start. Twenty small holes cost more than one big one.
04Material
Thicker and tougher stock costs more and cuts slower. Thick acrylic and Delrin cost the most, birch the least.
05Quantity
The price per part drops as quantity rises, steepest from 1 to 10 pieces.

- What does laser cutting cost?
- It depends on the part's size, its cut length, how many holes the laser has to start, the material and the quantity. The order minimum is $25 and there is no setup fee. The example tables on this page come from the same engine as the quote.
- Which materials can I get an instant price for?
- Clear and colored cast acrylic, mirror acrylic, Baltic birch plywood, MDF, hardboard, Delrin (acetal) and polypropylene, in the thicknesses listed on this page.
- Do you laser cut metal?
- No. We mark stainless, aluminum and brass with a fiber laser, but we don't cut metal. For cut metal parts, use a metal shop or an online metal cutting service.
- Do you ship outside Atlanta?
- Yes, UPS Ground anywhere in the US, priced by weight to your ZIP and shown in your total before you pay. In metro Atlanta you can also pick parts up for free at a meeting spot.
- How big can a part be?
- Up to 23.2 x 11.6 in (589 x 294 mm). Parts under 1/4 in on their short side get a person's check before cutting.
- What if my file has a problem?
- The quote tells you before you pay: an outline that doesn't close, more than one part in the file, or a part too big for the bed. Each message links to the guideline that explains the fix.
