Laser cutting material
Laser cut polypropylene (PP)
Polypropylene (PP) is the plastic of folding lids and file dividers: thin, flexible and tough, it bends thousands of times without cracking and shrugs off most solvents, oils and cleaners.

Fit
When polypropylene is the right call
At .030 in it cuts cleanly on the laser into any flat shape, including fold lines and living hinges, so a stencil, a gasket or a box blank arrives ready to use.
Good for
- Stencils and masks
- Living hinges and folding boxes
- Thin gaskets and spacers
- Covers, flaps and guards
- Labels and tags that flex
Pick something else when
- It needs to be stiff. At .030 in PP flexes by design; use acrylic, Delrin or birch for rigid parts.
- It needs to be glued or painted. PP's slick surface resists most adhesives and paints.

Care and handling
Looking after polypropylene parts
- Fasten with rivets, screws or snaps rather than glue.
